Steelers fans (AKA me) that don’t live in Pittsburgh are in for a treat when they come visit. Pittsburgh is literally a city of black and gold and the lights are beautiful at night. As we prepped for a trip to Pittsburgh, I was scouring the internet for top locations for Steelers fan.

Here are a few classic Steelers fan locations when in Pittsburgh:

1. Heinz Field

Heinz Field, Pittsburgh Steelers

This is number one for the most obvious reason! Prior to COVID, they did tours around the stadium. We went last month and tours were indefinitely postponed. Still, you can walk along the river by the stadium and visit the Steelers Pro Shop where they have game balls and worn game jerseys for sale! The website is right here.

2. Steeler’s Founder’s (Art Rooney) Statue

Right outside Gate A, you can see the statue where the founder and longtime owner sits.

3. Primanti Brothers

Primanti Brothers, Strip District, Pittsburgh

Steelers fan location: Primanti Brother’s. For yummy burgers with coleslaw and fries in it, you need to try Primanti Brother’s. The original location is in the Strip District and is where the Steelers Team takes rookies to eat. The location is 46 18th Street. We ate in the table next to where Troy Polamalu ate! Go to the original location! But if you’re in State College or outside of Pittsburgh and want to try it anyway, find a location here.

4. Jerome Bettis Grille 36

While we didn’t get a chance to make it to the Jerome Bettis Grill 36 (temporarily closed because of COVID), it is definitely a location worth visiting for Steelers fans! While the restaurant is not owned by Jerome, it’s named after him, who left some memorabilia in the restaurant, it would definitely be a worthwhile visit. The website is here.

5. Peppi’s Old Thyme

At Peppi’s Old Thyme restaurant, you can eat the “Ben Roethlisburger” which is #7 on the menu, named after our current QB, Ben Roethlisberger. According to wideopeneats.com, the #7 is a patty that has sausage, cheese, and fried eggs.

6. Duquesne Incline

Another fun experience, the Duqeusne Incline takes you up towards Mount Washington, where you can see the Three Rivers and Heinz Field. It is a must-visit for Steelers fans. There isn’t too much at the top besides a lookout point and small museum but further down the street, you can make it to Mount Washington. The city of Pittsburgh, Heinz Field, and the three rivers are right within view.
