International foods are part of my daily life. I mean, all my favorite foods come from all over the world. As a transplant, I’ve had the privilege of growing up in several countries. It’s no wonder that Mars brands of chocolate and Cadbury taste like home. Or that I have the biggest trouble finding Shoyu Ramen with soba noodles made perfectly.

As a result, I’ve created this list full of amazing products you can purchase online. Products that taste and feel like the childhood of one growing up in corners all over the world.

When you grow up in another country, you don’t just love the touristy stuff–the fish and chips in England or the Meiji chocolate in Japan. You love Tesco brand of Crepes, English blueberry soda (no one seems to remember or find anymore)…and you love porridge and real German Schnitzel.

There is a world of flavors out there–under the surface of what’s popular and they are full of amazing spices and seasonings.

So if you’re looking to reminisce with me and try local favorites, this list is for you. Or if you’re trying to find international foods to spice up your daily life, this list is for you.

International Foods for Breakfast

Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. And if you’re like me, a warm beverage is a part of this meal. I’ve created a previous post about my favorite teas, coffees, and beverages that come from abroad, so check it out!

Quaker Oats Oat So Simple Porridge with Golden Syrup

This porridge is simply one of my absolute favorite foods for breakfast. It keeps you full, fills you up, and at the same time? It is so warming and delicious. I highly, highly, highly recommend. We picked some up at a Sainsbury’s before leaving London and it’s constantly in our Amazon cart.

Kinneret Date Syrup from Israel

Date syrup is one of my favorite international foods! I add the spread onto my toast in the morning and it’s absolutely delicious–syrupy and almost a caramelized topping for my toast.

Yoffi’s Holy Land Israel

This is a set of 3 jars of honey from Galilee, Jerusalem, and the Negev (where Samson is from)! We bought this in Israel and took it home with us. Each region’s jar of honey tastes totally different from the other and are simply so delicious.

International Foods for Snacks

Lotus Biscoff Cookies

These biscuits are delicious and complementary to tea and coffee. These biscuits are a product from Belgium and they are caramelized and delicious. They are a type of shortcrust biscuit called a “speculoos.”

Keogh’s Shamrock and Sour Cream

I LOVE Keogh’s. Funny enough, I first saw this brand in the Hallmark movie Forever in My Heart. When we visited Ireland last December, they had Keogh’s at a local grocer in Dublin near our BnB! They have the sour cream version on Amazon. My favorite is the original potato chips! Not greasy like Lay’s or Ruffles, but absolutely delicious.

McVitie’s Digestives

Digestives are simply one of my most favorite biscuits…ever! They are English and so delightfully wholesome in taste and perfect for a chocolate snack and for dessert!

Being recently sensitive to gluten, I’m no longer able to eat them, but they are amazing and incredible cookie-biscuits that taste like England!

Bahlsen Choco Leibniz Milk Cookies

These are absolutely delicious chocolate biscuits. They are butter biscuits with European milk chocolate on top. This international food is from Germany and I grew up eating these!

International Foods for Dessert

Manner Hazelnut Cream-filled Wafers

These wafers are absolutely delicious and a perfect after-meal dessert. These were a big part of my childhood when I grew up in Germany.

Cadbury Milk Chocolate

Cadbury chocolate is SO delicious and was an absolute treat when I was growing up. My favorite are the Cadbury Buttons, but for some reason, no one wants to ship those on Amazon. Cadbury is kind like the England version of Hershey’s Milk Chocolate, but is not overly sweet.

Galaxy Milk Chocolate

Galaxy Chocolate, especially the Smooth Milk, is delicious. I’d say the sweetness level is right in between Cadbury and Hershey’s chocolate. My favorite one of these are the Minstrels. They just taste like England to me.

Chocolate Mushrooms

Meiji chocolate was a huge part of my life when I lived in Japan for a few years. Meiji can be found in Asian stores and markets like a Daiso or a Seafood City so give them a try for a fun cultural experience. The chocolate is so much more different than American chocolate–lighter in my opinion. These are shaped as mushrooms but aren’t mushrooms (don’t worry!).

Hello Panda Chocolate

The Hello Panda snacks are so delicious. They are like little biscuits with chocolate inside! They have other flavors such as Matcha and Vanilla.

Meiji Almond Chocolates

Chocolate-covered almonds are amazing and Meiji’s is super yummy! These were always in our pantry when we lived in Japan, so if you get a chance, give them a go. Meiji chocolate is one international food that you can find in my home.

International foods are a staple in my home but sometimes I miss eating international foods from around the world. I miss Fortnum & Mason in London and NYC cookies and cupcakes from D.C. If you’re like me, you want to eat favorite meals over and over again. And many famous places actually deliver! I wrote a post about it here.

Do you have any recommendations for favorite international snacks, desserts, or foods from abroad? I’d love to hear about them!
